Lacrosse: Girls

Our season typically starts near the end of March or the first week of April. We have 13 regular season games, with the potential to add more for our Varsity program with postseason play. 

2024 State Date: April 1

Section Tournament: May 28-June 5

State Tournament: June 11-15

*Captain Practices are organized and run by the Girls Lacrosse Captains and their parents.*

Captain Practices are optional, yet strongly encouraged, for all new and returning players. This is a great opportunity for players to work on their skills and endurance to prepare for the spring season. Field practices will be held at the Braemar Dome, and wall ball sessions will be held at Southview & Edina Community Center City Gyms. It’s required to complete a Captains’ Practice Waiver  and to turn it in to the captains when you arrive for your first practice

Tryouts start April 3rd (During EHS Spring Break) 

Thursday April 3 -- 3:00 - 5:00 pm Braemar Dome 

Friday April 4 -- 9:00 - 11:00 am Braemar Dome and 3:00 - 5:00 PM Braemar 

Saturday April 5 -- 9:00 - 11:00 am Braemar Dome  

All students MUST be registered for Lacrosse prior to participating in tryouts. Find registration information HERE. *Registration begins on February 1.

Typically, we practice right after school on the EHS Lower Turf field. View the practice times and locations HERE. 

• JV and 10A will practice Monday - Friday. 
• Varsity will practice Monday - Saturday. 

Players need goggles, mouth guard, and a lacrosse stick. We encourage everyone to give lacrosse a try, but would like players to make lacrosse their priority during our spring season.

• Player Expectations:
  • Great attitude combined with great energy.
  • Playing time is earned during practice.
  • Practice is mandatory, late is unacceptable: arrive 10-15 minutes prior to start of practice.
  • Lacrosse is the in-season sport and should take priority over other activities. If you foresee a conflict, please notify your coach well in advance.
     
• Parent Expectations:
  • Be supportive of your daughter, your coaches, the team, and the program.
  • Parents are not expected to contact coaches. All questions should come through the player.
  • Attend three meetings throughout the season:
    • 1st Meeting – Player and Coach
    • 2nd Meeting – Parent, Player, and Coach
    • 3rd Meeting – Parent, Player, Coach, Athletic Director

• Coach Expectations:
  • Teach, excite, and motivate!
  • Treat players, parents and officials with respect. We will act as an example for players.
  • Teach the game of lacrosse to all players.
  • Teach players how to be part of a team and work towards a common goal.
  • Put the team in a position to be successful.
